  • What is an instalment loan?

    An instalment loan is a loan repaid in equal instalments over a period of time, usually within 3-6 months.
  • What service does Loancat provide?

    Loancat is a an introducer that provides its customers free access to a large panel of reputable UK lenders, all through a simple online application form. (If a loan offer is obtained, the customer is under no-obligation to proceed with the loan).
  • What is a personal loan?

    A personal loan is an amount of money provided by a lender to a borrower to use for any purpose. It is generally a loan of a low amount that must repaid within 3-36+ months.
  • Am I eligible to apply for a loan?

    Each lender on our panel has their own unique criteria that they follow, however, the standard minimum set of requirements are that you are 18 years or older, UK resident, have a regular source of income, and have an active bank account that allows direct debits. If you are able to meet these criteria then you would be eligible to apply for a loan.
  • If approved, how soon will I receive my funds?

    If your loan application is made on a weekday and you are accepted by a lender before 3pm, then you could receive your money on the same day. If your application is made after 3pm, or on a weekend or bank holiday, then it’s likely that you will only receive your funds the next working day.
  • Can I apply if I have a poor credit history?

    Yes, we have lenders on our panel that specialise in providing loans to people who have a poor credit score.
  • Will you do a credit check on my profile?

    Loancat will not perform a credit check on your profile, however, if a lender accepts and proceeds with your application, they will carry out a credit check to assess your ability to repay the loan.
  • How much can I borrow?

    The lenders on our panel offer loans from £100 to £15,000. You may apply for an amount within this range.
  • How are repayments made?

    Repayments are made through your debit card account, via direct debit.
  • Is there a charge to use your services?

    No, our service is completely free to use. There are no hidden fees whatsoever. We are paid by our lenders for introductions.
  • Do I need a bank account to apply?

    Yes, it is a requirement of all lenders on our panel that you hold a bank account, in your name, to allow for the loan repayments to be collected directly from your account.
  • What is an APR?

    APR stands for annual percentage rate, and is a measure borrowers can use to compare credit charges.
  • Is your website safe and will my data be kept secure?
